Superstars in Shiny Cars:
The Oscars Deliver The Best
Arrive Like a Rock Star to the Grammys 2016
When Los Angeles rolls out the red carpet to celebrate its biggest and brightest showbiz stars, it does it in a massive coordinated style. Here, in this city, we even have a name for it. It’s called the Awards Season. Industry professionals, talent managers, agents, publicists, along with millions of fans catch what can only be described as a high-energy, celebratory fever. They all begin stressing over timing, placement, the where, the what, and who of these events. Serious thought and attention is spent on featuring top celebrity nominees, performers and guests in the best light possible, from the red carpet to the gala, and in some cases, up the main stage to pick up the big prize.
The Grammys are one of the biggest events during this festive time in L.A. Think of it as the Oscars of the music industry. It is glamorous, highly anticipated, and prestigious. Heck, there is even a Grammy Museum in downtown, so the year round worship of music’s biggest names continues, and the chance to see the gold trophies an up close and personal experience.
Originally called Gramophone Award or Grammy, is an accolade by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (NARAS) of the United States to recognize outstanding achievement in the music industry. Taking place on February 15th, this year, the glamorous affair positions itself in the middle of the Awards Season, where all the important trophy givin’ takes place all over the city of angels.
Yes, it’s an honor just to be nominated, so much so that during the 2015 ceremony, that Fairness Patrol of the award shows known as Kanye West rushed the stage, in defense of R&B diva Beyonce. Beck, the real winner, invited the attention-loving rap superstar back on stage, to perhaps allow him a chance to express his frustration.
Like most award shows the Grammys are no stranger to controversy. And every year fans and journalists add to the list of memorable Grammy moments. The 2012 Cowboy’s Farewell with Glen Campbell honored by Blake Shelton performing “Gentle on My Mind” and “Rhinestone Cowboy” with The Band Perry. Who can forget Pink’s aerial gymnastics as she belted out “Glitter in the Air,” or the legendary Tina Turner with Beyoncé, performing “Proud Mary?”
Speaking of legendary, here is our chance to spotlight a real winner in the transportation industry. L.A. Private Car Service is truly the top pick for a fun and glamorous night around town. We too have made our name known to the entertainment industry. We have done so by providing quality service to all our valuable clients. Spirit Awards: Zip to the Beach in Style!
When Hollywood looks to the future and the next wave of talent, they look outside the engine. Beyond every calculated campaign, a teaser trailer, official trailer, red band trailer, walk of fame ceremony, and social media buzz, the big wigs look outside its own realm in search of the next big thing. To recruit talent and present the next visionary who will go on to make bigger, commercial films, the industry looks to independent cinema and the personal, unique films made on smaller budget, with refreshing new perspectives.
The Spirit Awards, presented by Film Independent plays the role of encouraging and awarding such voices in non-mainstream films.
In addition to being one hell of a party, held daytime at the beach, in Santa Monica, CA, this trophy-fest concentrates on honoring independent films exclusively.
Awards are presented for the year’s best achievements in films made outside the Hollywood machine, with statues given for Best Feature, Best First Feature, Best Feature Made for Under $500,000 (the John Cassavetes Award). Winners are presented with an alloy bird sitting on top of a pole wrapped in shoestrings representing the size of budgets of independent films.
Fresh faced talent share the blue carpet along with Hollywood A-listers who claim that their involvement in the film was merely for the art of cinema, and in most cases it was, as these are the films that draw such performers to meatier, career-defining roles, without the big Hollywood backing.
Industry insiders and film buffs love this event for spotlighting newcomers and, hopefully, for featuring famous faces who flex the muscles they were meant to flex, the ones having to do with acting. Hitting the gym to buff up for an upcoming role is not exactly honing your “craft.” Can we agree on that?
Indie rooted actress Brie Larson, actor Christopher Abbott, (both nominated this year) may become superstars of tomorrow. Today’s top draw Jennifer Lawrence, Ryan Gosling, Matthew McConaughey, Johnny Depp, got their start in independent films.
It’s a casual event, yes! But let’s call it Hollywood-casual. Translation: the price tag on a pair of flip flops, or cargo shorts at these events can set most of us common folks back a house mortgage or two.
Make no mistake, arriving in style is always in fashion, and in this town one needs to arrive. After all Jaguar is one of the official sponsors of the Spirit Awards 2016.
Knowing a thing or two about L.A. Awards Season, and the importance of industry events, L.A. Private Car Service is equipped and ready to whisk you in and out of these important events.
Beach traffic on weekends should not be your concern. Our expert staff will assign one of our reliable chauffeurs to navigate through best route to get you and your guests to your destination, safely and punctually.
Reserving early is highly recommended.
Get out there. Shine bright and celebrate the free spirit of creativity. And if you are a nominee, enjoy the accolades and keep up the good work.

To the SAG Awards with Luxury & Comfort
As we push on with the red carpet bonanza known as Awards Season in L.A., one needs to keep a calendar of these events. Wait, we have that covered here.
If you are a diehard fan or simply interested in the art and the glamour of Hollywood, keeping up with what’s being honored, stars in attendance, and time of the live telecast can be a fun yet complicated task.
The Screen Actors Guild (the SAG Awards) is one of the big and very popular events. Prestigious, glamorous, and fun, it is lined up with the boisterous ones like The Golden Globes, People’s Choice Awards, and a few seriously serious ones, like the Critics’ Choice Awards, and the Producers’ Guild Awards (PGA).
The accolade given by the Screen Actors Guild‐American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) recognizes outstanding performances in film and primetime television. The statuette received by the winners is a nude male figure holding both a mask of comedy and a mask of tragedy, “The Actor,” as the trophy is called, is 16 inches (41 cm) tall, weighs over 12 pounds (5.4 kg) and is cast in solid bronze.
Nominations for the awards come from two committees, one for film and one for television. The telecast airs on TNT and TBS Cable networks.
The big guarantee with SAG Awards is the massive number of TV and movie stars walking that red carpet, at the Shrine Auditorium, in downtown Los Angeles.
Every year, actors, actresses, get a chance to rub shoulders with eachother, exchange pleasantries and do what Hollywood does best, give eachother awards.
The fashion cam and network cameras along with paparazzi photographers get the first glimpse as talent and other guests lucky enough to attend this event, and arriving at the red carpet is one heck of a big deal. This is the moment when the car service or the limousine delivering the VIPs makes its entrance. It is from this modern day chariot s famous figure or you, the guest makes his or her own entrance. Therefore, the what, where and how of getting the right vehicle is as crucial as choosing that perfect dress, a sharp tuxedo, hair, makeup, the bling, or the words spoken during an acceptance speech.
Simply put, the question on the day of the event is not how you got there, but how you’ll get there, L.A. traffic and all. So, make the call and reserve early. Call who, you ask? Got that covered too.
At LA Private Car Service, this part of your dilemma is not only answered, but handled with care and attention. Let our reservation experts assist you with choosing the perfect vehicle, from our brand new, fleet of cars, supported by the white-glove service of our road-savvy, professional chauffeurs.
When it comes to the transportation of you, your lovely friends, and guests, to and from Hollywood events, our team is the winning one. We are confident that once you try our service, we will see you again as a satisfied returning passenger.
Sit back, open a bottle of champagne, wine, or have a soft drink from the built-in bar and cooler and enjoy the ride and your night of glamour and fun.
